Golden West Regional Fly-in Announces 2010 Theme
“Higher, ever higher”

Marysville, California (March 22, 2010) Golden West Regional Fly-in & Airshow announced today that “Higher, ever higher” is the theme for the 2010 event which will be held on June 11, 12 & 13 at Yuba County Airport (MYV). “Higher, ever higher” is a tribute to the spirit of the pilots that flock annually from across the west to participate in the Golden West Fly-in. According to Golden West President John Gibson “This year’s Golden West Fly-in and Airshow is about celebrating achievement in aviation and about showing participants how to reach for achievement in themselves.” All kinds of aircraft, of which over 1,000 are expected, from single seat Ultralights to the latest personal aircraft to military warbirds and jets will assemble in Marysville to participate in this aviation convention which is open to the public.

The Golden West Regional Fly-in will be open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (0800-1700) all three days featuring daily demonstrations, EAA forums and workshops, with the annual aerobatic airshow on Saturday. The Golden West Aero MallTM will have exhibits by manufacturers of the latest aircraft, avionics and pilot supplies. The KidQwestTM hangar will provide aviation related hands on activities for kids of all ages and EAA Chapters will provide free Young Eagles flights for kids ages 8-17 on Friday. Aircraft judging will be on Saturday with awards presented at a dinner that evening.  Many exciting and interesting activities are planned for this year’s Golden West Fly-in and will be announced soon.

Switchblade Flying Motorcycle Presentation at California Capital Airshow

Marysville, California (September 10, 2009) Sampson Motorworks will give a presentation on the Switchblade Flying Motorcycle in the Golden West Forum tent at the California Capital Airshow this weekend at 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

With Ferrari-inspired styling the three wheeled Switchblade flies on retractable wings. Larger rear wheels are located aft to provide room for the main wings to swing closed under the belly of the vehicle, protected from road grunge and rock dings by a clamshell case. The unusual three-wing configuration also allows for smaller wings. With side-by-side seating and room for golf clubs the Switchblade allows you to fly to an airport near your golf course, drive to the course, then fly home…all in the same vehicle.

See a mock up of this new flying motorcycle at the Golden West Fly-in exhibit at the California Capital Airshow. Sam Bousfield, CEO of Sampson Motors, the Auburn California based developer of the Switchblade will present and be available for questionsPhotos and additional information about the Switchblade Flying Motorcycle are available at www.samsonmotorworks.com.
